Lariggan, Penzance

This bespoke kitchen at Higher Lariggan, Penzance was built around a clean, slab door profile, made specifically to let the room's warm ash veneer and considered detail speak for themselves.

As with every kitchen we design and build, the doors are hand made, each is a slab door in ash veneer, painted in Farrow & Ball's Cromarty, a soft, muted green grey, finished to a matt lacquer.

Four wall unit doors are glazed in reeded glass within a 50mm frame, lit from within, alongside open wall and tall units left unglazed to display everyday items. Every handle throughout is Furnipart's oak range, warming the painted run with natural timber rather than metal alone.

Cabinet carcasses are built in Egger's Light Winchester Oak, with a full height fridge freezer housing, a dedicated space for the client's own Everhot range cooker, and a run of pull out shelving and door hung spice racks keeping storage genuinely useful rather than just deep and dark.

The worktop is Duke Stone's Penrose, a 30mm quartz surface named for the National Trust estate near Helston, with a dedicated back panel fitted behind the Everhot itself. At the sink, a Blanco SilGranit sink in white is paired with an Abode brass twin lever tap in brushed nickel.

Cooking is centred on the client's own Everhot range, extracted through a Bosch brushless canopy hood, with a Bosch full height fridge and a Bosch 60cm dishwasher completing the appliance run.

The result is a warm, considered kitchen built around real ironmongery and glazed detail, with a stone worktop and back panel built specifically to frame the range cooker at its heart. Egger 18mm MFC in Light Winchester Oak, 2mm PVC lipped edges. Blum Onyx soft close hinges, Blum LegraBox soft close drawers. Full height fridge freezer housing. Dedicated space for customer's own Everhot range. Pull out shelving units and door hung spice racks.

Worktop:
Duke Stone Penrose quartz (PG2), 30m, with a back panel behind the range cooker.

Sink & Tap:
Blanco SilGranit Subline undermount sink, white, single bowl. Abode twin lever tap, brass, brushed nickel finish.

Appliances:
Everhot range cooker, customer supplied. Bosch brushless canopy extraction, 86cm (LA-86-CAN-LUX-BR-SS). Bosch Series 6 full height fridge (KIR81ADD0G). Bosch Series 4 60cm dishwasher (SMV4ECX23G).
