This kitchen in Bath was built around a single, striking material choice: slab doors veneered in white American oak and finished in a deep, dark stain, run across a large island and a full wall of storage.

Every door and panel is hand made, veneered in white American oak before being stained to a dark matt finish, giving a depth of colour and grain that a factory stock door cannot match.

Rather than an applied handle, every drawer and door is finished with a routed fingerpull, 32mm deep and mounted along the top edge of drawers and the side edge of doors, framing each door. The island itself is finished with matching end panels and a run of accent panels between each unit, so the same dark oak wraps the whole piece rather than stopping at the door fronts.

Full height panelling continues that finish up to the larder and fridge housings, with fills and plinths made to match precisely rather than left as a visible gap.

Cabinetry & Hardware: Egger 18mm colour co-ordinated MFC, 2mm PVC lipped edges. Blum Clip-top Blumotion soft close hinges. Blum LegraBox soft close drawers.
