Beach Road, Crantock

This bespoke kitchen on Beach Road, Crantock was built around a genuinely tricky architectural detail: an exposed structural steel post within the room itself, which the worktop and drawer runs were built to work around rather than box in.

Each is a solid ash shaker door with an unusually wide 88mm stile, painted in a considered mix of Little Greene's Marine Blue and Partridge Grey, giving the kitchen two distinct tones within one cohesive scheme. Every handle throughout is Furnipart's Vista, in a brushed nickel inox finish.

Cabinet carcasses are built in Egger's Light Sorano Oak, with Blum Onyx soft close hinges and Blum LegraBox soft close drawers in Lava Grey throughout. A made to size unit houses the kitchen's stacked appliances, with extra shelving and edging built into a genuinely tall larder area.

The worktop is Silestone's Blanco Maple, 20mm thick with an 80mm upstand, cut precisely around the steel post and extended deep into the drawer area on one side to make the most of the space available, with a mitred end panel and an island overhang finishing the run.

At the sink, a stainless steel undermount sink with a bowl and a half is paired with an Abode Prothia three in one tap in brushed nickel, drawing hot water from its own tank. Cooking is handled by a Neff suite: a 70cm venting induction hob with its own ducting kit, extracting directly through the worktop rather than needing an overhead hood, and a Neff N50 Slide&Hide single oven, whose door slides fully beneath the oven cavity when open rather than swinging out into the room.

The result is a kitchen built to solve a genuinely awkward architectural constraint with grace, two considered paint colours, a worktop cut precisely around a structural post, and a hob that keeps the room's sightlines completely clear.
