Fawgan Road, Newlyn

This bespoke kitchen on Fawgan Road, in Newlyn, was built entirely in oak, with a quiet, considered detail not every kitchen gets: a pair of glazed display doors set into the wall unit run.

Each door is made in 22mm MRMDF, veneered in crown cut European oak and book matched along the vertical grain, with 5mm solid oak edging all round and a 3% dead matt lacquer finish. Two of the wall unit doors are glazed rather than solid, framed in a substantial 55mm profile, giving the kitchen a place to display glassware or crockery rather than hiding everything behind timber.

Cabinet carcasses are built in Egger's Light Winchester Oak, with Blum Onyx soft close hinges and Blum LegraBox soft close drawers throughout. A dedicated seat area is built into the run, with its own door and panelling to match the rest of the kitchen, alongside an extra high fridge freezer housing and a combined oven and microwave housing that keeps both appliances at a comfortable working height.

Every handle in the kitchen is brushed brass, mixing a round knob profile with a T-bar handle across doors and drawers, warming the oak with a consistent metal finish throughout. The worktop is a 20mm quartz surface with a matching upstand, run across the kitchen with a full set of cut outs for the tap, sink, drainage and hob. At the sink, a Blanco SilGranit undermount sink in soft white with a brass finish is paired with a Propure 4-in-1 monobloc tap in brushed brass, providing filtered, boiling and standard hot and cold water from a single fitting, and finished to match the handles throughout the room.

Cooking is handled by a full Samsung suite: a Smart Oven with Dual Cook and pyrolytic self cleaning, a matching bespoke combination microwave, a 60cm Slider Flex induction hob, and a wall mounted cooker hood with automatic connectivity. A Samsung fridge freezer and slimline dishwasher complete the appliance run.

The result is a warm oak kitchen finished with a genuinely consistent material language, brushed brass throughout, glazed display doors, and a full suite of considered detail from the seat area to the worktop. 20mm quartz (PG2 range), with matching upstand, full cut outs for tap, sink, drainage and hob.

Sink & Tap:
Blanco SilGranit undermount sink, Etagon 500-U, soft white with brass finish. Propure 4-in-1 monobloc tap, brushed brass, filtered boiling and standard hot and cold water.
