Our History:

Meadows Kitchens is a family business, run by Andy & Josh Magin. Andy has extensive knowledge, gained from over 25 years experience in the kitchen industry. Meadows Kitchens has completed prestigious contracts near and far - from (quite literally) next door, to Amsterdam, Cornwall, East Anglia and Italy. The list is geographically far-reaching - the same as the style of the projects!

Before starting Meadows Kitchens, Andy was the Southern National Manager at the largest kitchen manufacturing and installation company in the country. Responsible for the sale and installation of kitchens and bedrooms to a major house building network, Andy gained extensive knowledge of kitchen design, installation and contract management, achieving completion of full installation to tight timescales.


Now, Meadows Kitchens focus on bespoke, specialised kitchen design, supply and installation, including undertaking detailed construction works. Andy and Josh work with a close-knit team to undertake works from small installation projects, right through to large structural alteration or complete new builds. 

Andy and Josh’s main focus is clearly set on getting the detail right. By doing this, full kitchen renovation projects, or supply only orders, run smoothly with no unexpected surprises, and full completion on time. Irrespective of size or value, all our jobs are run the same way, with Andy and Josh involved every day, from the initial meeting right through to that glass of wine (or tea) as you settle in to your new living space.  

We are proud that all our business is generated by recommendations from satisfied customers. We do not advertise, but work from our reputation alone. 


What We Do:

We undertake detailed and extensive reconstruction jobs, fully project-managed supply and fit projects, or a straightforward supply only orders.

Our plumbers are Gas Safe Registered and electricians NICEIC Approved. We continuously carry £2,000,000 Public Liability insurance and are very proud to have been nominated and included in Which? Magazines Local Trader Register (where we now have the prestigious ‘contributor status’). This inclusion gives potential customers, particularly those that have not come via a recommendation, a greater degree of initial trust and security in our ability, products and craftsmanship.

Here at Meadows Kitchens, we believe in protecting the places we visit and the environment that surrounds us, which led us to start looking into how we could reduce our carbon footprint. 

Home energy accounts for around 19% of a family’s total environmental impact, and the kitchen uses a large portion of energy in most homes, as well as a sizeable amount of water. By selecting the right materials and efficient appliances, a family can reduce energy use and utility costs. As an added bonus, avoiding the use of toxic chemicals in the construction process can improve indoor air quality.
With no extra cost to the customer, we believed it was time to become more environmentally aware of the products and processes we used to create your kitchens; the more sustainable we can make the installation process the more environmentally and economically efficient your kitchen will be.


Lighting and Appliances:

Unless requested otherwise, ALL new light fittings we use are LED, which provides long life, minimal maintenance and pure, saturated and warm colours whilst only using a fraction of the electricity that standard halogen lights require. Their hugely reduced power consumption not only provides a financial and environmental benefit, they also give out very little heat enabling safe use when recessed into ceilings. In addition to this we also recommend only the top energy rated appliances that once again reduce power consumption providing both financial and environmental benefits.

Sourcing of Sustainable Materials: 

After much research into creating a business that functions with limited environmental impact, we believed that the sustainable sourcing of materials was the first place to start.
Our cabinets are made using the most sustainable techniques available in a closed cycle from initial sustainable forestry, to the delivery of the product. High-quality log wood from sustainable forest is used by our supplier to produce chipboard, while not only wood from thinnings and log wood from sustainable sources, but also sawmill by-products and recycled materials are turned into wood-based materials. The materials that cannot be used for wood-based materials are used to create electricity in biomass power plants that provide power to the factory, and a new electric truck fleet are used to deliver these products to manufacturer. 
In addition to this all of our kitchen door substrates, ranging from timbers to MFC are sourced from manufacturers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council ensuring that the materials used are from sustainable, managed sources. For laminate worktops, we partner with Duropal. They ensure that all our material carries the PEFC certification, guaranteeing that it comes from properly environmentally managed and sustainable sources. They have also achieved independent PEFC accreditation to provide surety for ‘chain of custody’. 

Stone Worktops:

As a natural product, stone is inherently earth-friendly. Natural stone currently offers many attractive, environmentally friendly attributes, including an enduring life-cycle, durability, ease of care and maintenance and recyclability. Where possible we source European stone from quarries with environmentally friendly best practices. Before choosing your stone, ask us where, geographically, it is sourced from.


Installation and Project Completion:

Conventional building practices consume large quantities of energy and water, while generating excessive air emissions. Moreover, indoor air quality can be impaired when unhealthy building materials and practices are employed. We use the highest quality products thus indoor air quality is therefore not impaired, and always use minimal electricity when installation is on the go. We also use the best mobile dust extraction system we can on site, manufactured by Festool, this reduces dust to air rates enormously.
Unless we have not included a skip in the initial quote, meaning the customer wishes to dispose of the waste themselves, we will remove all waste from any installation with few exceptions. We encourage reuse and recycling of used materials by using websites such as 'Freecycle' for items that may still be useful. We aim to achieve rates of recycling of over 90%, largely maintained through years of research about various outlets for the recyclable materials that are sorted from installation waste to significantly reduce the percentage going to landfill helping towards a greener environment.
